PHILANTHROPY AT PC

It is our community who makes our world-class programming possible and positions PC as a leader in learning.
Charity Drive

Philanthropy has been a significant part of our history since the school’s founding in 1981. PC is fortunate to have a generous community of students, parents, staff, alumni and friends who believe in the values and mission of our school. It is our community who makes our world-class programming possible and position PC as a leader in learning among independent schools in Canada.

We are grateful to our community, who not only support us financially but also give us their time and expertise volunteering in various capacities at the school throughout the year. Our community was built on the foundation of volunteering — our students participate in community service, our alumni are making a difference around the world, and our parents model community building inside and out of our walls. The amount of time that our parents commit to support and grow our community is humbling. What we know for certain is that every gift of time and resource ensures that our learning community is innovative and inspiring for all learners.

The Community Relations and Development department supports the advancement of PC through school events and philanthropic giving needs. This team promotes and oversees alumni relations, development, events, and marketing and communications for the PC community which includes current families, staff, alumni, past parents, grandparents, past staff and friends.

I am incredibly grateful that our parents choose PC for their children’s education, and support both financially and through giving their time. Our community members make a difference by ensuring that we have the learning environment, tools and opportunities available for all of our learners to thrive.

Yours in gratitude,

Avery Locacciato

Executive Director of Community Relations and Development

The Independent School Difference

PC is an independent school, which is different from a private school because of the way funds are used for the work that we do. Private schools are generally for-profit organizations established and controlled by one or more persons. Independent schools are often not-for-profit or charitable organizations and operate with a volunteer Board of Governors.

PC is a registered Canadian charity and complies with the regulations set forth by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). That means we devote all of our resources (funds, staff and our campus) to our primary purpose – delivering an outstanding educational program for our learners. Because we’re a not-for-profit organization, your investment in our school has a tremendous impact. Every last cent of your contribution is invested in our incredible programs, people and spaces. This is the independent school difference.
