FUTURE PLANS
Our Five Year Vision
In 2015, we updated all key priorities and initiatives of our School’s Strategic Plan. This plan will provide PC with clarity in direction and will be reviewed and updated as needed as we move towards 2020. Our plan has specific goals and objectives which are designed to create a world-class learning environment while offering a personalized student experience, while keeping the school at the forefront of an independent school education.
Our 5 Strategic Themes
1. STUDENT LEARNING
PC continues to provide a learning experience that goes beyond the Ontario curriculum and enriches our students with experiences and learning opportunities that transform them as human beings. Personalized learning is our commitment to know each of our learners well and to work alongside them to develop skills, knowledge, and competencies that will allow them to thrive in post-secondary and beyond.
Develop and implement a program that is tailored to the needs and aspirations of individual learners.
Design and deliver a range of student success services including media and information, learning support, advisory, guidance and university counseling.
Design and implement curriculum experiences that incorporate new teaching and learning strategies including inquiry, project-based, interdisciplinary and blended learning.
Design and implement a schedule that facilitates program goals.
Develop and implement a 9-12 Arts program which includes art, music, drama and dance.
Develop and implement a program for health and fitness, and outdoor education.
2. INCREDIBLE PEOPLE
PC faculty participate in professional learning opportunities that serve to enrich their practice and skill set and to deepen and improve student learning. The strategic goal and purpose of professional development at PC is to build a learning community that creates a bold, innovative and positive learning environment where all learners are thriving, feel valued, and respected.
Design and implement a professional development program for teachers and staff that ensures they have the knowledge, skills and support to implement the new program.
Design and implement practices to attract and retain exemplary faculty and staff.
Design and implement a faculty professional growth and evaluation program.
3. AMAZING SPACES FOR LEARNING
Through the Shaped by Experience Campaign, we will be able to offer new and enhanced spaces to positively impact the learning and development of our Lower, Middle, and Senior School students.
Design and build facilities that promote and support educational excellence, collaboration and personalization including a learning commons, a student support centre, enhanced art facilities, outdoor education facilities, health and fitness facilities, and areas that promote spiritual wellness.
Incorporate appropriate models of environmental sustainability into new facilities.
